Nasty Disasty LP

Vinyl LP version available here

After taking a little time for ourselves with other projects, we all decided to get back into it and soon discovered that our writing and playing tendencies had all evolved to a more stripped down approach. This was much different than our previously very busy and layered songs, but we like it. Starting with improvisation as always, we record every rehearsal sharing the tracks and listening back on our own. Slowly, we started pulling together some new songs that were completely different… heavy and more nasty. The next thing we knew… we had ten songs. We had no choice but to share our new creations with you.

We recorded Nasty Disasty over three days with Jon Fintel at Relay Recording in Columbus Ohio. We wanted to record it in a way that was as “live” as we could get while still being in the studio. We decided not to use headphones and setup together in the same room facing each other just like we would in a normal rehearsal and blasted through all of the tracks. It was rather brutal not having the safety net of multi-tracking on the core takes but it was fun. We had to nail our parts or start over each time! It’s not perfect, but we didn’t want to compromise on the feel. We were intent on keeping it loose and as live as possible… We then asked our good friend Dang Olsen to make the cover art to fill in the last piece of the puzzle and there you have it!
